Recipient of Mayor’s Citation Award

Mayor Scott Avedisian Recognizes Rick’s Auto Body

Warwick, RI, November 8, 2011 – In recognition of Rick’s Auto Body celebrating its 50th anniversary in business, Mayor Scott Avedisian issued a citation from the Office of the Mayor to Ronald J Piscione, President/Treasurer of Rick’s Auto Body. The citation reads in part; “In recognition of celebrating 50 years in business as a family-owned, third generation small business.”

Mr. Piscione partnered with his father, Americo “Rick” Piscione in 1961 when his dad decided to open his own business. Rick’s has been a fixture on the corner of Fair St and Post Road since 1965 in the Pawtuxet Village section of Warwick. “I can’t believe we have attained this milestone. When we started out, we tried to be honest, fair and hard working. We just wanted to do the best job we could for our customers. And here we are 50 years later, still applying those same principals.” stated Mr. Piscione. Ron’s son, Ronald D Piscione, is the Vice President and General Operating Manager making this the third generation to enter the business. Over the 50 years, Rick’s has been at the forefront of providing improvements, advancing technologies, and training their employees. The company has embraced eco-friendly waterborne paint, and is continually attending I-CAR classes in order to repair cars made from the latest innovative materials.

Mayor Avedisian in an accompanying letter further states, “Small businesses are a vital part of any city or town not only because of their contribution to the local economy and workforce but because of their commitment to the community in which they do business. Your long-standing support of projects, special events and charitable causes throughout your half-century in business is certainly appreciated.”

“I am both honored and humbled to receive this recognition from the City of Warwick. We could never have reached this milestone without our employees, neighbors, and the business community embracing us.” says Mr. Piscione. “I am proud to be part of Pawtuxet Village.”
